Welcome to the Acropolis

"And now - Plato's words mock me in the shadows on the ledge behind the flames. The men of the cave would say of him that up he went and down he came without his eyes." - Charlie Gordon

Hello there - my name is Argo. I am non-binary, lesbian, mentally fucked, and a defiance of man's construction of nature!!! Carving my selfhood out of the ashes of others, I have named myself after the vessel from Greek mythology. According to legend, the Argo was the first ship to sail the open Mediterranean. Many believed it was a monster. Some saw it as beautiful. Like the vessel demonstrating a new relationship between humanity and the forces of nature, my existence spits on the face of power. I take back all parts of my narrative and give myself a new name, a new identity that is mine and mine alone. Thank you for visiting my site and sailing alongside me.

What does our natural world teach us about ourselves?

I take wisdom and inspiration from all forms of life. These are both lichens, photographed over 7715 kilometers apart from another. Yet, both of them share something in common. Lichens transcend our boundaries of life's 'kingdoms.' They are also one of the first species to occupy a space, per the levels of succession. Thus, represent - no, they create hope where nothing else dares to venture...yet. Lichens are the argonauts of all life on earth!

Stay tuned for...
